About UKMinimumWage.co.uk

UKMinimumWage.co.uk exists for one reason: to make it fast and simple for UK workers and employers to check whether pay meets the legal National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage rates — without wading through GOV.UK's dense guidance pages.

What we do

We build free, focused calculators covering the situations that create the most confusion around minimum wage compliance — apprentice rates, tips and gratuities, zero-hours contracts, accommodation offsets, trial shifts, and more. Each tool is built around the actual legal rules HMRC and ACAS enforce, not simplified guesswork.

Who's behind this site

UKMinimumWage.co.uk is run by Andy, site founder. The site is maintained independently, with rates checked and updated directly against GOV.UK and Low Pay Commission publications.

How we keep rates accurate

Every rate on this site is sourced directly from GOV.UK and the Low Pay Commission's published recommendations. When the government announces new rates each April, we update every calculator and page on the same day the rates take effect. We do not estimate or extrapolate rates — if a figure isn't yet confirmed by government sources, we don't publish it.

What this site is — and isn't

UKMinimumWage.co.uk is an independent information resource. We are not a law firm, an accountancy practice, or a government body, and nothing on this site constitutes legal or financial advice. Our calculators are built to reflect the standard rules correctly, but individual circumstances vary — if you believe you're being underpaid, or need advice specific to your situation, contact ACAS or a qualified employment solicitor.
